Coached youth basketball, football and baseball for over 18 years. NCAA, USA Basketball and PCA Certified Coach. Married to Emily, and have 4 children: Anthony (US Naval Academy Graduate, first member/ player of Idaho Elite Basketball), Abby (Senior at the University of Washington), Ben (Freshman at NYU), and Eliza (Junior at Eagle High School). Board Director of multiple non-profit organizations, such as North Star Charter School, Junior Achievement of Idaho, United Way of Treasure Valley, and acting US Naval Academy Blue and Gold Recruiting Officer for the State of Idaho.
I find coaching youth sports to be the most rewarding profession one can encounter in life. It is an opportunity that I take seriously, but enjoy immensely.

Experience: Coaching Basketball and other sports for 17+ years (Jr high/High school AAU, Club, Camps), coached all levels of 3-12th grade basketball across the western portion of the US. Our teams have played teams from all over the country and internationally. We've had such a rich experience playing against some of the best teams in the nation, I'm truly blessed for the experiences we've had with IEB. Played basketball all through high school at Boise High/Jesuit High School (Sacramento, California). NCAA, USA Basketball and PCA certified coach.
Bio: I'm married to Beth, she's my rock. We have the 3 best kids anyone could ask for Brian, Tyler, and Zack. In my spare time I am an avid outdoorsman, I especially love fly fishing, you'll find me in a river somewhere usually throughout the summer, fall and winter. I love working with kids at basketball, but also in their life skills. It's critical for me to see my kids not only mature as basketball players but also as young adults.

Experience: After a few years of college football and studies at Idaho State University I started coaching at Highland High school in Pocatello in 1999 . I coached Basketball, Football and Baseball at sub varsity levels until I took a teaching / coaching job at Skyview High School in Nampa. Since then I have coached multiple sports while teaching at Middleton and now Kuna. As an 18 year youth coach I enjoy building relationships with my players and watching the techniques and attitudes form into team success.
Bio: My wife, who is perfectly named Joy and I have been married for 17 years. We have 3 children; Colton, Jillian, and Jace. Favorite things to do include hunting, fishing and camping in the Northwest and taking vacation with my family.

Candace thornton
Board Member/Vice President/IEB Girls Director/Coach
Experience: 9 years coaching, including high school JV, and varsity head coach. Currently head Varsity coach at Centennial High School, 2017 IHSAA 5a State Champs. Idaho Elite Girls Director since 2013 also coaching many levels. Played four years of high school varsity in southern Idaho (West Side), and then for the University of Northern Colorado.
Bio: I'm married to Eli, the only guy to meet all my requirements and also be willing to put up with my competitiveness - our first date was to play pick up ball, where he sprained his ankle trying to guard me. He cheered me on for four years in college, and continues to do so as I coach. We have three little girls, who I can only hope love basketball as much as I do. Outside of the gym we enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, camping, and water sports.

Experience: AAU/Club Basketball since 2010. Have been coaching Youth sports including boys basketball, football, and baseball since 2006. Played high school football and basketball for a hall of fame coach at Neenah High School in Neenah, WI.
Bio: My wife, RaeGail, and I moved to Idaho from Wisconsin in 2006. We have two great kids...Claudia and Logan. I’ve been playing sports my whole life and the lessons learned about teamwork and sportsmanship are invaluable to me in both my personal and professional life. One of my biggest joys is to share those lessons with kids.

Experience: Yball/AAU/Club Basketball coaching since 2003. I have also coached other youth sports, including flag football, soccer and baseball. A Boise native, I attended Capital High School and played basketball for the Eagles. I played for the SMU Mustangs for 2 years in college.
Bio: My wife Tina and I have three kids...Chris, Scott and Andrew, the last two having played for Elite. When I am not coaching or working, I enjoy being outdoors in our great state, including rafting, hiking, golf (sometimes) and biking. I truly believe the lessons learned as a teammate are life skills you carry forward the rest of your life.

Experience: A Boise native that has been coaching youth basketball through various entities since 2000. Played basketball in high school at Boise High. Then played five years at Gonzaga University from 1989-1994. Played one year of Professional Basketball in Japan in the first division of the JBL.
BIO: Married to Anna E. Hayward Goss, another Gonzaga graduate. Have two (2) amazing boys Charlie and Conor whom both play several sports, which includes basketball with Idaho Elite. When not practicing law or coaching, in my free time I run, play golf, tennis, and enjoy hanging with the entire family in Boise. Having the ability to coach kids at this level is a blessing and feel fortunate to have an opportunity to give back from my experiences.
