It's been about a week since the start of tryouts and I still find my voice is in shambles from tryouts! But what an amazing experience we had, coming off a year of uncertainty and ups and downs it was absolutely amazing to be back in the gym with our players and families.
We shuffled about 450+ families through our tryout doors, we did our best to share our values and goals with players and families, and also did our best to provide a basketball experience that players grew from. The downside to hosting 450+ families is that we will not be able to offer positions to all of them, the worst part of all our coaches year is the 10 days after tryouts making selections. We're truly blessed and humbled at IEB by great turnouts for tryouts, but also hope that families understand were bound by certain restraints on gym space and quality coaches. We meticulously screen our coaches when we're selecting them to ensure they will uphold our 3 pillars, so we hope that comes through when they are coaching your players.
Please be patient as coaches make decisions and send out offers, we know this can be a nerve racking time!
