BLOG & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Idaho Elite Basketball's first team took the floor as the Idaho Wolfpack in 2005. Back then there were very few opportunities for kids to play competitive basketball in the Treasure Valley. The AAU program was experiencing tremendous demand... every high school feeder team fielded just one team and had way more kids trying out than spots available.
Demand brought forth the beginning of the Idaho Wolfpack, a team of 6th grade boys from all across the valley that did not make their respective AAU teams. They played their first games at the Bryan Dunn Memorial Tournament in Boise where they went 2-2.
Over the next 3 years they lost more games than they won. They trained hard and competed in tournaments across the valley and Portland, OR, getting better every week.
These young men remained friends throughout high school and to this day are the foundation of Idaho Elite's long-term success. All of the original Idaho Wolfpack players played successfully for their high school teams - Capital, Timberline, Meridian, Bishop Kelly, and North Star High School.
In 2008, the 3 co-founders Joe, Chris and Jay relaunched Idaho Wolfpack under the name "Idaho Elite Basketball" for their three sons - Ben, Brian and Jaxon when they were in 4th grade. During their first two seasons, their team experienced more success than their predecessors, winning more games and tournaments.
More importantly, these young men embodied the standard by which every Idaho Elite coach and player strives to live by, found in our "3 Pillars" (Character, Commitment, & Teamwork).
In 2010, due to high demand and a lack of girls basketball opportunities, the Idaho Elite girls basketball program was formed. The girls side of the program has grown exponentially in numbers and level of competitiveness over the years, leading to the development of our coveted Tree of Hope program, which competes in the elite NIKE Champions League.
Also, the boys side was expanded in 2022 to include "Flight Idaho Basketball" to give our top Idaho Elite players a place to advance their skills through middle school, high school and beyond.
We believe that the key to our entire program’s long-term success is due to the commitment to the 3 Pillars, not the wins and championships. As a testament to this commitment, many of our players have returned to coach in our program, including Ryan Kinnaman who is also a Co-Director.

IEB Mission statement
Our objective at Idaho Elite Basketball is to provide our players with a competitive basketball environment to help them become better individual basketball players, as well as vital members of their respective teams. We believe basketball can be used as a tool to help players learn how to work hard, understand the importance of personal discipline, and become leaders in our community. We ask our players to "fill their jersey's"; what we mean by this is: "it may say Idaho Elite on the front of your jersey, but it doesn't mean anything if you don't back it up by giving your all, having a great attitude, being an encouragement to others, and respecting your opponent. Only then will you be considered Elite".
